Anytime you want to get wrinkles out of your clothes and you are heading for a shower, take your clothes with you. Sounds adorably simple, right? It is but the only trick here is to have a steamy hot bath that turns your bathroom into a sauna. You can switch off the exhaust fan or close the bathroom window for maximum results. The steam inside the bathroom will remove 80% of the wrinkles from your clothes.
2. Use your dryer to get the wrinkles out
Another easy and quick way to get iron clothes without using an iron is to toss your clothes in the dryer, grab a few ice cubes from your freezer and throw them in the dryer. Set a maximum heat setting on your dryer. The trick here is that the heat of the dryer melts the ice cube creating instant steam. The circular motion of the dryer and the steam inside remove the wrinkles from your clothes. You get wrinkle-free clothes within 5 minutes.
Different clothes require different dryer settings and combinations. Here is what you can do when it comes to thin or thick clothing items.
- Thinner clothing items – Put a damp sock in the dryer and run it for 10 mins.
- Thicker clothing items – Put a damp towel in the dryer and run it for 20 mins.
3. Work immediately on your damp clothes

That does not mean you open the iron board and start ironing every clothing item. All you have to do is give your clothes a good shake and stretch the fabric bit by bit all over. This is pretty simple and it gets the results in a few seconds. Simply put your wrinkled clothes on a hanger and dampen them with a spray bottle. Next, use the hair dryer on the wrinkles. Make sure you place the hair dryer 2 to 3 inches away from the fabric and work in a straight downward motion. Within a few strokes, your clothes will be wrinkle-free and ready to wear almost as if they were ironed.
Get Wrinkles Out of Stubborn Clothing Areas - Cuffs and Collars
Getting wrinkles out of clothes without iron is still an easy task but getting wrinkles out from cuffs and collars is always the most difficult part even with an iron. The tips above may not work well on the cuffs and collars. This is where flat hair straighteners come into the picture because not all heroes wear a cape. Some come with heat and pressure.
When you don’t have time to iron clothes, use any of the above tricks to get most of the wrinkles out of your clothes. For cuffs and collars, use a flat hair straightener.
Here’s what you should do:
- Clean the flat hair straightener with a sanitizer wipe or a damp cloth.
- Make sure there is no hair product residue on the hair straightener.
- Switch on the hair straightener. Use max heat for cotton clothes and low heat for thinner clothes.
- Hold the cuff/collar tight – remove any wrinkling by hand.
- Move the tongs of the hair straightener in one quick motion across the cuff and collar.
- Give it a few long strokes until you get all the wrinkles out.
- Pat yourself on the shoulder for a job well done.
